V8 conversion water pump
« on: April 21, 2017, 06:56:20 PM »

Hi guys.

It's been a long time since any progress has happened on my corty. Last night I managed to drop the 347 Windsor in and bolted it off and came to the horrible conclusion the water pump is about an inch to far into the radiator void.

Some one please tell me there is a short water pump for 302 windsors as I am yet to find one.

V8 cortina guys did you have to modify the firewall and tunnel to create more room for radiator and fans?

Hey mate.
Ebay search. "Windsor short water pump."
I do not recommend the crs kit as it uses a holden red 6 water pump.
Early mustang 65 etc used a short water pump for clearance also. Make sure u get a matching pulley whatever u end up with.
No i didnt modify the firewalls for the 5L or the 1uzfe.

Thanks for the heads up on crs one.
A mate found that one and suggested it but you had warned me first.

Found one tuffstuff make and a single v pulley set from cvf racing in the states.

Only issue I found the water pump doesn't use the standard bolt kit. Will need to buy longer bolts separately but all should work.
