Title: Interesting corty diff swap to jeep question...
Post by: tyler06 on February 11, 2012, 03:06:21 AM
Ok so after some research of which its all pretty vague. Ive sussed out that from the front of the drums on my corty it is roughly 59" and thats in the dark lol
Then a jeep xj cheerokee has a dana 35 27 spline diff that is 60.5" from disc to disc which in theory would make it a viable option for a strong diff setup in a corty?
Has anyone looked at this before?
Im gonna find a diff in a jeep that i can pickup cheap and sit them side by side. The stud pattern is ford as well so with AU on rims they should sit nicely in the guards...
This is my idea anyways and im definately gonna check it out as the info seems vague and they might have a slightly off centre centre lol.

Gday tyler06
The Volvo's from the 80s to around 93 ran a Dana 30 with 27 spline and avaliible wth lsd .not sure of the difference of Dana 30 and 35, may be worth a look at for length and I think the centres are central  ,But will not have same stud pattern as a ford. Also think they had ratios avalible in 3.7 and 3.9s .may get them quite cheep to, carnt see much of a demand for Volvo diffs.
