Ive got a 1600cc engine and box coming for my 1300 Cortina .What can I do to get more power out of it ideas appreciated

get a 2.0L. thats got heaps more power than a 1600

Lighten the bottom end and throw sum valve springs at it and turbo it ,my first car was a mk2 escort I setup a turbo on it ,very strong little block ,I was very close to buying the ford racing Kent block and boring it to a two litre but I got hold of a cortina with a very healthy 250 and now I won't go past a stroked v8 .I'd love to do up a Kent engine now with my engine knowledge and turbo fuel injection tech that's out there now

My brother also had a 1600 escort and we put twin sidedraft webers on it with a big cam awsum little motor in my opinion ,you must upgrade the gearbox and diff coz I lost count of how many boxes and diffs we went through
