Title: [ADELAIDE] For Sale: 1973 TC Cortina (Unfinished Project)
Post by: temper on December 19, 2012, 06:23:01 PM
1973 Ford TC Cortina, It comes with all the Cortina spares you see in the photos (windows, doors, bonnet, diff, bumpers, etc). Straight panels, some rust in the usual spots. Lots of spares! 4cyl 3 speed manual (needs starter motor put back in) but did/does run, Hotwire mags, 4th one is in the boot. Want it gone!

Unfinished project due to loss of interest, no idea what price to ask, so open to offers, had the car for approximately 10 years.

*BUMP... again.

If no one is keen to buy this vehicle and spares as a whole, I will most likely part it out... so if you're interested in it, whole or part, let me know asap, keen to get rid of everything before March.

I also have a 4x genuine Dragway Splatts and 1x aftermarket spare for sale for the right price. All have tyres (retread with 70-90% tread). Rims are 13x7JJ (front) and 13x8JJ (rear), chrome is in excellent condition, no peeling, no discoloring, no chips etc. Had them on my TD Cortina long ago, looked great.

I have a set of 4 genuine 13" Dragway Splatts. No photo atm though. In great condition, just need a clean/polish. No dents/buckles/bends. 3 Decent tyres (4th one popped the side wall on a metal grate on a gutter). Also have a spare non-genuine 13" Splatt as spare. If you are keen, I'll give them a wash and a polish up (for the right price). Let me know.

*DragWay Splatts have been sold.

Considering no one seems to be interested in this as a package deal, I will part it out. Phase One!

ALL PARTS FROM TC CORTINA!

Hotwire Mags $120 (Set of 4)
Front Windscreen $50ea (4 of)
Rear Windscreen $50ea (4 of)
Front Bumper $50ea (2 of)
Rear Bumper $50ea (2 of)
DeepDish Chromie $25 (1 of)
Complete Diff $100 (1 of)
TC Doors $25ea (4 of, full set, have rust, complete door)
Stock 13" Rim $15ea (3 of)
Fuel Tank $50 (1 of)
Rear Window Louvre $40 (1 of)

The rest of the 'spares' are attached to the car itself... I still haven't gone through the boot where a shitload more of parts reside. Really need to get rid of everything Cortina from my yard! If you want it all, make me an offer for it all.

AFAIK, Brakes, Brake booster, 2ltr head, pedals, shifter, engine parts, etc are all in the boot, I just cbf going though it all atm. Were all from another 'donor' car.

You haven't moved  it because you're asking too much, 1400,800 you're dreaming its worth 2 to 3 hundred. You will make more parting it out but don't expect it to be out your yard within the next year.

$800 is asking too much? k then. it does come with a sh'tload of spare parts, so IMO $800 is quite fair. Given that oldskool hotwire mags still go for a nice chunk of change, $120 seems a bargain by themselves. And the 2L motor and gearbox, worth more than $300 alone, hell.. the 2 barrel DCOE carby is worth at least $100.

Some people just want most things for nothing, lowballers, I encounter them everywhere.

The spare bonnet, lhf guard, dragway splatts are sold, rest of whats in the photos are what I'm asking $800 for.

As for the moment, I am advertising the spares shown in the photos, see if i can offload those 1st, if I do, then I might just say f'ck it and sell the rolling shell (with motor/driveline) for $300 just to rid it from my yard. Otherwise if I don't get any more interest from this 'cortina forum' or gumtree or wherever, and I end up cbf with the hassles any more I might just scrap the lot and take it to sims metal.

You're entitled to your opinion, sure, as am I. Dreaming? nah, realistic pricing, yeh. If I sold the lot for $300, someone would be getting one hell of a bargain.

As for the parts prices, those are a starting point, make an offer on what you want.. I might just bite.

Nothing wrong with your part prices and as you say negotiable. Comment reflected price as a hole. Yes it only my opinion and if you ask my wife an opinion can be wrong lol. I'm not low balling as I have no interest in it,  Anyhow this is a link to another corty site you may get more luck posting in there

Np, gotta get some cardboard and tape to wrap em up good. I took some photos of 3 of them. 1 has a slight bend by the looks (the one on the left or bottom in the photos), the other 2 are straight, 1 with the rubber, 1 without.

Seems I have 4 sets, not 3.

I've probably missed a heap of parts, so if it's not in the list doesn't mean I don't have it, best to phone and ask.

I just want my $$$ back on what I originally spent those 10+ years ago, then the rest can goto a wrecking yard/sims metal or be given away for someone to make use of the left overs.

If someone wants to come and take the lot for $600, bring cash! It will need to be towed on a flatbed car trailer.

I have owned this vehicle for over 10 years, and it is an unfinished project, panels are straight as straight but do contain rust in the usual spots. Paint has peeled/faded. Motor runs, drive train is good.

So it seems I have someone finally interested in the Cortina as a whole, including all spare parts... so if you want some spare parts before the lot is sold, this week is the time to get in. ^ Typical person wasting my time...
