Still stuck on a colour to paint the Corty
At the moment grandad painted it cream (house paint )
What was he thinking
Best part the Corty has not one dint or any rust at all

The colour white just seems to blend in with the crowd
What is it like to have a matte or satin black Corty
Black Betty looks unreal so dose Proz4c

I went in to autobarn today to buy spark plugs and came home with the wrong ones .
I went back in to change them and found out my 250 precross flow has the 200 ci head.
Is this a good thing or bad ?
What would be the purpose for the 200 head ?

Need help please
I got my cortina running like a dream for the first time since it was rebuilt.
The next morning I got up and started the Corty again use the choke and it was running ok and got warmed up
Then it started to run a little weird and stalled
If I use the choke or accelator when I start it its ok but as soon as I take my foot off I dies automatically its got me stuffed
Anyone know what might be wrong

Have you set up the air/fuel mixture rite?.timing ok ?,idle speed?.What about screwing in idle speed to increase revs and keep it running then start her up ,then drop idle speed back so it still runs then check mixture etc and timing, guess you already did all that eh.

All seems good with hoses
The petrol tank is dry when I got the car so maybe I might of pick up some shit from the bottom of the tank and it blocked the carbie ?

All seems good with hoses

Spray some carbi cleaner around the manifold and carbi etc when its idling, if the rpm's pick up you have found a leak in the area you were spraying it.

Any spare parts store should have it, about $15 . It's good for cleaning parts. Doubt it will help the carbi much though.

I found about 3 to 5 air leaks coming from the inlet manifold . Would that stop it from idling ?and some how I missed a bolt as well.

Re: HELP my td Corty will not idle
Ok now I have tighted up the inlet and it is still not idling.
Plus the fumes are really bad (like burning eyes )
I went to about 4 mechanics and not one off them want to know about it.
I believe it's because it dose not have a computer to plug in to tell them whats wrong (to afraid of some old school problem solving )
Is there anyone on this site that is or near Albury wodonga who has knowledge with pre 250 2v engines that can come and have a look to see what is the problem is ?
I'm so close to getting this on the road in memory of my granddad
I'm more than happy to pay for your services

Process of elimination im thinkin . check the pvc valve is working. its in the end of the tappet cover. ball inside it should move freely . manifold to carby gasket you can make or buy. the hose that goes to your brake booster draws large vacuum . then all the smaller hoses to the distributer , xmas tree to charchol canister, air cleaner hot air valve . cheap to replace . carby kit wouldn't hurt either, simple as the stromburg to renew. hope this helps. I do have a manual if I can find it . Cheers Kevin
