Hi guys and gals
I have a 4cylinder diff up for grabs that I need gone. It was rebuilt years ago and was removed shortly after for an upgrade to six driveline and lsd. It has been living in the carport ever since as an emergency back up. Happy to part ways with it for a bottle of turkey. Let me know if you're keen. Old Reynella.

what ratio? if its a 3.7 I`m keen.

Hey Winton, how can I find out. Pretty sure it used to have a tag, but that's long gone. The casting number on the housing is 0578-026917 and 731 on the other side. Welcome to come and have a look.

It will be stamped on the crown wheel but you have to take the backing plate off to see it.
You can mark the axle to the housing and mark the pinion yoke to the housing. Then turn the pinion yolk as many times as it takes for the axel to do one complete rotation back to the mark you made on the housing, counting how many turns it takes on the pinion as you go.
If the pinion turned 3.5 rotations to 1 axle rotations its a 3.5, if the pinion turns 3.7 times to 1 axle rotation its a 3.7 etc.
It's probably a 3.5.
Id say it would take me about 1.5 hour drive to come have a look , so would like to be sure it probably is a 3.7 before I get in the car. I would if I were closer to you.
Cheers

Pulled the cover this arvo and it's a 3.7. Looks great inside, nice and smooth movement, just needs a flush and new oil. Let me know what you wanna do.
