Hello all,
I have a TC front suspension and wanted to upgrade the disc's to vented, I contacted Burtons in the UK and was advised by them that an early 1980's Capri vented front disc and an M16 Caliper spacer kit was all I needed.
The parts arrived and the M16 caliper spacer kit does not fit and the vented disc's are nothing like the originals, the original disc total thickness including the hat is 62mm and the Capri disc is 31mm.
Can someone please advise me if there is a spacer kit for the original front calipers? Do M16 calipers bolt onto the Tc front hub? and is there a vented disc available that bolts straight on?
I have contacted Burtons and sent photographs and am waiting for their response.
Cheers

I cant see a direct vented disc swap being possible using your original calipers. The tc/d solid disc is 12.5mm and the te/f vented disc for example is 22mm.
The tc/d cortina model is Norms speciality and he will be able to advise on your best option.

i dont know what a M16 caliper is. only brake upgrade i've heard of using original type gear is with granada bits but it uses the early early imported tc stub axle. they even have different upper control arms so its not a simple 5 minute changeover. i've only ever seen one but didnt pay enough attetnion to it. i've done a tc upgrade 3 different ways and the simplest is the hoppers kit. you can still keep your 4 stud too if desired.
