i need a "throttle cable for 1978 TE cortina , with the (6) cylinder motor+auto,
does anyone know if there is any difference with the "throttle cable for TF, 6 CYLINDER MOTOR" ???
i have found that a company called" flexdrive" here in melbourne has a cable marked BA-195 FOR 1978 TE CORTINA, YET THEY ALSO LIST A CABLE PART NUMBER BA-227 , for the TF cortina (6) cylinder motor, the cables look the same.
melbourne area, contact:taffy_2007@operamail.com
anyone know the answer too the above questions????
best regards taffy.

The ends are different on some. Your best bet is to go there with your current cable or the ends of what you need and get them to custom make one for you.
I always ran a V8 XD cable when I was N/A as its a little longer.

Ya maybe length is diff. Also te would have stromy single throut carb and the tf might have a weber carb.

hi,

Hey taffy,
can you post a picture of the cable, I have got one. Cant remember what it was from as I have had a few te's and a tf spare parts cars over the years.

As cortina d mentioned the xb/xd V8 throttle cable is a little bit longer and has the same ends as a cortina cable. Also if you intend on fitting a holley a longer cable is ideal, flexible drive also do speedo cables great for c4 conversions just tell them the lenght and give them the part that goes in the dash and they will make it up they do keep some gear drives but you may have to supply both ends.
