Title: Help with a head
Post by: brycevr on April 14, 2008, 06:06:51 PM
I've just bought an alloy head for my TE.
The config will be : 350 holley, roller rockers, new cam, headers,

A few questions,
Which cam for spirited driving but still comfortable?
A 14892 crow seems to be a good compromise.
Should I get the head flowed?
By whom? (I live in Bathurst so someone in Syd would be best)
Who does roller rockers that are affordable?
Is there any need for solid lifters? pluses and negatives.
Is the redline manifold OK? if not what else?
Is it worth raising the compression ratio? If so to what? (I only use pulp)

I would like to see about 150-160 RWKW is this fairly doable without more major work.
Thanking all in advance[/u]

The cam that you mentioned is a very good street cam i had this in my previos cortina a few years back my combo went something like this
crow cam above with crow valve springs suited to cam, anti pump up lifters, lots of head work, standard rockersdepending what port design your head has, an early head (e2??)the best standard head was the c2 head it is stamped on the side of the head,i ran flat top pistons as i ran an early head to bump the compression up,600 vac holley and 4 barrell Cain manifold and pacemaker extractors ran mid 13 at over 100mph plenty of fun on the street.
