Hi All,
Anyone based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, keep an eye out for a dark blue [maybe Blaze Blue] TC 250 station-wagon, its in what seems [to the eye] like immaculate condition with what looks like the old 12-slotter mag wheels, similar to what was used on the XW/Y GT's.  I've spotted the car three times on the daily drive it's always heading south bound on Middleborough RD [each time close to the intersection of Canterbury Rd] where-as I'm heading north-bound stuck in peak hour traffic at approx 5:40pm.  Looks like the rego plate is original B&W starting with LPL but I couldn't spot the last three numbers.
Anyway just thought I'd list it here, I love the look of the TC S/wagons and hope to spot this car again, if i'm very lucky I might get a pic though thats not easy to do when your driving and certainly not safe either!
So if anyone lives in the eastern subs of Melb please keep a look out for this TC 6 S/wagon for me.

Thanks and take care All,

Matt.

mines not on the road at the moment unfortunately, its a work in progress taking far longer than planned. bought it off a local bloke who one day parked it in his shed and left there for 7 years. its got a 4 litre eb motor and a t5 box in it now bt being a 1st year apprentice the money and the times not available so progress it slow bt it goes atleast. im driving a vr commodore atm

Mine is a long term project also as you have probably noticed it looks pretty average at the moment, but I have to drive it because the family wagon broke down. I have a EF motor sitting around and thought about putting it in, was it hard to do?
Title: Cortina spotters thread!
Post by: scotty on December 23, 2008, 12:19:26 AM
nuh not really difficult as such just time consuming and fiddly. had it all in pretty quick but the main mods were things like sump which is the corty sump and the e series sump cut and welded together, heaterbox clearance with the multi point motor u'll have to remove it, thats y i went the early eb motor being centre point and with the car being unlicenced removng the heaterbox wasnt an option if i wanted it back on the road, the t5 sits further back so shifter wont line up with hole in the floor, and if u cut it to fit it it'll hit the handbrake when shifting to 4th or into reverse so i made a dogleg for the shifter, starter motor wont fit so cut a hole in the floor which later covered with plate, radiator wont work ports are wrong, can buy 1 to suit from aussie desert cooler, i moved the ports on the factory 1 unsure how reliable it'll be havent had it running long enuff to find out, crammed a thermo fan in cos the standard fan doesnt fit. and thats all i can think of off the top of my head, wiring i got a mate to do cos im hopeless with that especially being colourblind. but if u deside to do it theres a few that have been done so all the informations readily available. dunno wat the deal is with smartlock on the ef motor as the early eb didnt have them bt norm (tarhymen) the 1 to ask about that he used a ed xr6 motor in his td

What about engine mounts, I'd like to use the standard 4 speed that I've got if I can. This might be a bit too much for me, I've used XF fuel injection on a TE before and the only problem I had was cutting the bonnet out for the plenum, I'm an electrician so the wiring shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I should go XF fuel injection again.

Post by: scotty on December 23, 2008, 04:05:37 PM
standard corty engine mounts'll do the job. it is time consuming and fiddly but it can be done.

Did anyone go to the SA burnout titles at Speedway City on Saturday?

There was a green TC or TD there in the competition. Was definitely a v8, it killed everyone else! I didn't stay long enough to find out who won but I'm sure it would have been him!

Hey, Spotted a Red TE Sedan with a Black Bonnet at Tuggerah, Central Coast NSW on my way to work. Wouldnt happen to be someone on here would it? Mates were only telling me last night that its near their house at Gosford. That puts it at six in this area and so far I think I;m the only one on this forum. Will have to recruit them i think.

Spotted this about a year ago, so I went to the flat number  that the car is, the guy that came to the door said. Its not mine its the women up stairs. Then he go's on to them me it has been sitting in his car spot for 6yrs and she refuses to move it and good luck getting her to sell It

Cant see why he cant get it moved, If it was in my drive way and I wanted it gone, it would be.

So I head up stairs and knock on her door, she yells through the window " who is it" I say I'm interested in you cortina .  Then she starts questing my sincerity, once she realized I was genuine she came outside, then went on to tell me the guy down stairs had vandalized it, tried to have it towed, let lhe tyres down, blarr blarr blarr .... so I said to her, your saying its worth more to you sitting in his spot then in money, to witch she replies "yes" lol

I got the felling there is history between them. I will be going back to see if she is read to sell it in a couple of months ( took the picture yesterday, checking if it was still there )
