how do ypu find out what diff ratio your diff is?
-
There should be a small metal ID plate connected to one of the outer diff bolts that tells you what rario it is.

if the tag isnt there you can do it 2 ways. the only real accurate way is to rip the cover off and count the teeth on the pinion and on the crownwheel. if u only want a guesstimate, jack up one wheel on the back, climb underneath with a bit of chalk and mark 6o'clock on the raised tyre. mark the diff flange and the diff housing together.
turn the tailshaft counting how many turns it takes for the tyre to line back up to 6o'clock. if it takes 2-3/4 turns then it's a safe guess u have a 2.78:1 etc
