There are up to 3 connections. One will purge from the Carby when the engine is turned off, another will purge from the fuel tank to remove unwanted vapours and the third will purge into the intake manifold (Usually straight under the carby to promote even manifold pressure) to utilise these emissions in the combustion process.

Mine only has 2 got the one to tank.....might be easier to try get someone to look at it cos there are so many spots on carby and manifold it could go to .
Thanks for your help anyway

Is you cortina running a single barrel stromberg or the Dual throat weber (34ADM)? I have a copy of the factory workshop manual at my fathers, will check it this weekend and get back to you sunday night. Ill check the falcon manual as well for both cenarios. I know that if you have the stromberg it goes into the carby. I have 2 cortina's, one is a stock standard TE and the other is a performance TE awaiting a heart rebuild.

Hey, sorry for the delayed reply, trying to get more info and pick of what you need.
So far i know that the purge from the carbon canister connects to a Purge Control Valve ( Small disk about the size of a can top in diameter) this has two other connections on it. One will go into the base of the weber carb (near the dizzy vacuum connection) and the other Im still researching. It may go to the EGR valve.
This Purge Control valve will release the vapours in the canister when the vacuum reachers a set level. Will get back to you when i know more on it, am gonna check with a mate who is a mechanic.
