as the topic says i want to buy a td cortina but cant find a good one but have found a tc but dont like the sloap dash but like the td dash does any one know if they will transplant ova????? any help would be good
-
I know that the TC saddle dash can unbolt, so Id be guessind that the TD model's dash would be the same, Norm would be the one to ask :P
-
nah u cant, the firewalls are completely different. the tc dash facia completely unbolts whereas in a td the dash forms part of the chassis integrity
-
ahh well thats a bugger well the hunt will have to look harder and spend more for a td
-
It can be done, I've seen it done a few times before where people don't like the slope dash in their tc. I don't know exactly how it's done but Norm is the man so I don't doubt what he has said. However there would be a way to do it (isn't there always  ) but it would be an absolute pain in the arse.
Personally I think your mad! I much prefer the tc dash to the td one. It has so much more character than just a flat piece of plastic running the length of your car. Still each to their own!

oh yeah it can be done, i did it in my coupe but its a MAJOR pain in the arse because the firewalls are different shapes. only reason i went thru with all the work is becasue it was a coupe. if it were a 4 door i would just find a td shell.
i used to hate the tc sloping dash but the more u look at it the better it gets, i now love it. in hindsight i probably wouldnt go to that much trouble to change it again.
how are you at unstitching spot welds? about 60 of them.
