Hey all.
I have TE 78 Ghia. Restored. I blew the engine to bits (literally). Its out with the driveline (already). I want to put in an 8. I am not brand loyal but i love my car. ideas anyone? I was thinking import V8. Also a garage that''ll do it in SE QLD as I dont have the time myself. I have been building this car for 4yrs, i was finished. If i have to replace the engine, i might as well do it right. Open canvas for ideas.

Hi,
I am currently doing a 1uzfe which is a 4litre lexus/soarer motor into my Te.
Depends how big your bank account is and what you want to accomplish.
Mine is only being built as a daily driver, rather than all out performance. I also have a conversion kit including sump and pickup to put a ford windsor in the Te, which im not using and could be willing to sell. Have a look around get some ideas before you commit any money to your project.

Here is a link to my album, it is a very tight fit but will go in.

Yeah I''m looking to do it as a daily driver as well. Starting speaking to a few workshops about the idea. Think we got the same idea. Didnt mean to copy you though sorry. Did you have any other engines in mind when you started? This engine seems to be the one everyone is leaning to, not including XR6-T. I''ve seen windsors in them and wasn''t that impressed. I just feel there is more potential with other options. Cheers for the help though.
