You need to consider the settup you want. Are you going to run carby or injection? What cam are you going to run? What pressure dou you want to run? (more then 8psi an intercooler is usually advised by manifacturers as the pressurisation generates heat) Can the rest of your drive terrain hndle the extra strain? And it is all good to make it go but can you make it stop?

These are all thing that need to be addressed to pass engineering of the car.

I am in the process or getting the car ready for one. With that said i would probably go for the Whipple W200R as it is of straight through design which allows better flow with a carby (Looking at a Weber 500, 4 barrel)

Other then that good luck and hope this helps you work out what you want.

yeh mate im rebuilding the engine...got a block today, going for efi. bigger brakes are on the agenda. looking at a xf falcon, he wants $300 for the whole car its got a c4 on the back of a 250xflow. c4s had mods as the bloke who owns the car owns the local automatic shop. my only concerns are what charger to run, and whether i need a cooler or if theres any other little stuff arounds involved. a couple blokes at work suggested the paxton chargers...

CAPA does a kit for the later 4L engines.  You could probably buy the same blower and make it fit the 250.  Might be easier to make the later 4L engine fit the Cortina then use the CAPA kit.

I saw people make custom inlet manifolds years ago to fit 4-71 and 6-71 blowers but they never really went that well.  If you are going to use one of the old roots style blowers you need to run methanol to help cool the charge or you won;t be able to run much boost.

You can also look at using an eaton blower but everything will be custom.  There was a zoom a few years back with a 4L in a falcon where the guy made a custom billet inlet manifold and ran a whipple or something similar to these eaton style blowers.

yeh mate had a look at what CAPA have. i sent them an email (aswell as jus about evryone else who sells s/c) to find out what they might have to suit the 250. no word back yet. everyone ive spoke to at work seems to have their own ideas of whats good and whats not...i guess ill just have to try something and see how i go. any thoughts on the centrifugal s/c?
