Well, as some of you may know I bought two acres about 12 months ago. The property had your standard 20x30 shed which was o.k but having a Cortina addiction meant it was never going to stand up to the task. Before we even bought the property I knew I wanted a big ass shed. It got finished last Wednesday and took him 5 days to put up and I also got some gutters put on the old shed as it didn't have any :/

Roll on the pics  :D

She's 12 metres long with a 6 metre garaport, 7.5 meters wide and 3.6 metres high at the sides middle of the roof is 4.1? from memory. Having to wait a bit for funds to recover before we do any more to it like concrete and power etc, also want to get a 2 post hoist hence the extra height.
Next is to replace the red fence you can see in the second photo and replace the crappy red ex housing trust gates you can see in the photo above.

Costs so far

site preparing  $1200
Shed matierals $10,000
Putting it up    $5,000

Still lots to go with Concrete, power then I'm still trying to work out how far I want to go with it like maybe fully lined and insulated, toilet, shower, pot belly heater, wash basin, hot water... god knows where it will stop lol. I've been ooogling at the my shed articles in Street Machine for way to long now and have too many ideas!

Cheers guys  :D

Tils, I plan to do something like that for mine as I have a bit of height in mine and seem to keep collecting parts. A storage area like that would be very handy. Although if I had one like that I would have a firemans pole to get back down!

Rick, not really dure at the moment as I havn't got it set up yet, suprisingly it's filling up fast  :( it looked massive then we parked a car in there and it was like "oh, guess it's not really that big.

that kind of height doubles your shed. i wished i could. my neighbours whinged and moaned like a bunch of old moles when i put my shed plans into the shire and was restricted to 10ft to the bottom of the gable. whilst it aint like any of those it works for me and its certainly better than nothing. i call it "the chapel" cos its a place of worship.

Someone i knew had the same problem, his solution... Go down... ;)

I think he got it through approval as a fire or storm shelter or some-such...

i dug a pit but it doesnt hold a candle to a hoist :(
also somewhere in the manufacture process we must've put a hole in the waterproof membrane around it cos if we have a wet winter the water comes in thru the walls and fills the pit, except the water then cant get out. i did consider at one stage to tunnel out the side of the pit and having another room under the concrete in the shed but that sounds like alot of really hard work with the water issue i wrote the idea off. i've seen the idea in a house a mate used to rent where he found a growing room under the slab in the shed accessed via the pit

Get a HDPE liner made after the hole is dug. I used to work for a company called Fabtech in SA (who used to go all over the world) who could make it in a day just about (after measurements and quotes and what not)... Wouldn't be overly expensive, then all you have to do is concrete and bessa brick up the sides etc. I'd use a girder for the pit drive over area and checker plate or mesh. :)

I remember many a devouted session of worship in your chapel Norm on my last trips to W.A.
A super chilled fridge and a finely tuned radio made many a fine evening and an interesting day at work the following morning,
lol

I always wanted a decent size shed so when i moved up to the hills i decided to get one.

I built the sanctuary with the help of my wife and neighbour. It is 16 meters long, 6 meters wide and 3.0 meters high at the side.

I closed in the back 42sqm with a fully insulated and lined room to use as a family room / gym / storage space.

Up front i have 2 bays which are currently being used for restoring my XE Falcon but will be used for storing the falcon and corty when done.

This leaves me one 3.2 X 6 m bay to use as a workshop.

Currently i am thinking of adding an extension to the side of the shed in the form of a carport or widening the shed for more area to work on the corty when i restore her again! Got to get that one apst the Ball and Chain first!
