Exhaust wrap?
« on: July 23, 2013, 08:16:32 AM »

Just wandering what people's thoughts are on exhaust wrap. My extractors are slowly melting my rubber steering coupling and the drivers side engine mount is cracked, which I'm guessing has something to do with the heat. I'm running it on my harley and it seems fine but that's out in the open. Has anyone heard of it catching on fire?

u can get titanium stuff which is flameproof. buy it here for a million bucks or get it from the US ie: summit, jegs etc and it heaps cheaper. if you look hard enough you can still buy asbestos wrap which shits on every other product on the market.

i dont mind the stuff and its benefits far outweigh the cons. just dont use a fabric based tape as they hold moisture and rust your pipes in no time.

Yeah rust was a major concern, I'm getting them blasted and painted before I wrap them. Thanks for the advice

I have it on my turbo diesel Patrol. It works awesome. No fires. It prevents them.
