Te wiper problem
« on: September 19, 2016, 07:10:50 PM »

Im back guys hahaha
Bought ricks te wagon last weekend, just nutting out all the little annoying crap at the moment. Im stuck as to why the wipers arent working.. i pulled the motor out and tested it and it works if i earth the green wire and put 12v to the blue/white wire. So ive put it back in and started working my way back.. i could be testing it wrong but i dont seem to be getting any power going to or from the combo switch.. any ideas? Or past experiences that could shed some light on it? Its done my head in hahaha once this is sorted i can start driving it daily.
Cheers

Well ive had some success..
After getting my hands on a wiring diagram i found out theres a fuse tucked inside the dash for it. The fuse was fine but the holder was rooted. Replaced that now ive got wipers on the fastest setting but nothing on the low setting and they dont home themselves. Better than nothing i suppose, atleast we wont be getting rain for much longer this year lol

That fuse is a pain in arse to find. Sorry i didnt see the post sooner. The wiper park is controlled from within the wiper itself. The intermittent if u have a ghia model is via a relay from memory.
Good to have ya back....

Cheers mate. Its not a ghia, and i havent found any relays anywhere as yet. I may have to find another motor to bolt in to rule that out as the problem. Ill muck around with my multumeter over the weekend to try and figure it out.

Yeah no problems. I've moved since we exchanged Corty parts last time. Do you still have my number? I've lost yours. I brake phones like I change my undies, about once a month
