Hello all, I am fitting a 2 litre pinto into a mk2 cortina can someone tell me if I can use the original 4 speed with hydrolic clutch or do I have to replace the box aswell. It has the original box with hydrolic clutch and an escort 711 1600 motor and that seams to match the box well, will the 2 litre do the same? please help, Gary Crompton :D

The bolt up pattern is the same but I'm sure the splines on the gearbox input is smaller than the 2 litre. I have put a 2 litre engine into an 1600 escort mexico which uses the hydraulic clutch and gearbox the same as the MK2 cortina and all I had to do was change the clutch centre plate to match the 2 litre clutch pressure plate and 1600 gearbox shaft. Not sure if the starter will suit the 2 litre flywheel though might have to use the 2 litre starter motor.
