Building a cortina. Might not be in street machine... :P
« Reply #135 on: January 31, 2012, 03:49:54 PM »

Also found what rotor hub to use on this setup. DBA2508:- off Honda Integra.
It is 57.8mm high as opposed to 58.5 off the XA falcon setup (this will only pull the rotor a fraction away from the tie rod end- a good thing), 25mm thick and 23mm minimum- as opposed to 28mm and 26mm thick for the BA. 300mm dia as opposed to 298mm for the BA Falcon, so 1mm extra in the radius- no issue. Centre hole is 64mm as opposed to 71.5 of the BA and 83mm on the XA hat. So I'm assuming this will need machining.
Best thing is it has a P.C.D of 114.3, same as falcon and all the rest! WIN!!!

So as you know I've modified the front end to fit a commodore radiator (VC etc) but had to remove a row to allow clearance for the fan. Very time consuming. Wish I had the coin to spring for a custom radiator... lol

Still saving for the BA adapters... so no thrashing for a while yet...

remove a row? are you literally taking both tanks off and soldering up each tube?

Both tanks are off, and that's what I'm doing...

Hi Tils,
But arent you defeating the purpose of putting in a bigger radiator, by taking out 1 row?

Yeah, that's right, but without that deleted row fitting a thermo fan is a bit tight, and I'm hoping there's enough thermal efficiency remaining that the engine wont freak out... I intend on getting a custom ally one made up eventually though.

I whacked a tank back on this arvo, there are 3 pinhole leaks that I gotta sort but other than that it's looking good.

i think you will find those wheels will be the wrong offset and stick out too far, au / ba or jap wheels are a better cheaper option

The car has BA 16"s on it at the moment. They sit too far in...

i have a trailer falcon hub from repco and au11 front rotors and calipers , so a different settup on the front , so they could fit on the front but you will have to put a shortened diff in it for them to fit on the rear.

Need to lower it and get lower profile tyres, but I rekon it looks ok...
