te cortina bumper ends
« on: September 02, 2011, 04:03:04 PM »

Hi folks,

just picked up a set of bumpers for a te and the guy I bought them off was telling me that you can get the bumper ends for around $20 / $30 off ebay? Can't say I've seen them before and had a look in Aus and the U.K and couldn't find anything. Has anyone else seen them or know what he's on about?

Cheers

If someone has a mint set, make a mould of them and make fibreglass replacements. Anyone here good with fibreglass?

Pc man, I hear what your saying but I had already bought them when he told me this. I had paid him and was just having a chat about Cortinas when he mentioned it. I've sent him a txt and said if he sees them again to tell me where they are. We'll see if he gets back to me.

I thought it sounded fishy as I had never seen them before but I hadn't ever specifically looked for them either so gave him the benefit of the doubt.

The fibreglass ones sound real good! it would be awesome to have new shiney ones on there. I've never worked with fibreglass before.

I'm going to be hand fabricating a set of metal ones for my cortina later on to weld to the bumpers then have them chromed. But it will be a fairly big job and would take a long time to complete. Were I to do them for anyone else, it'd be a pretty expensive process....

would there be much interest in these if they were made out of fibreglass? i had a quick look at some the other day and they dont look like it would be too hard to make a mould of them? not sure how good a condition they were in tho. are they the same front to back, just left and right ends?
