Happy new year to you lot, went to bed at about 9:30 on NYE as I was sore from starting training again after a bit of a brake, I'm hoping to actually get started on my cortina this year but need a workshop down here in Albany, all my stuff is under lock and key in my old workshop 5 hours away, I will get there one day, I'm sick of being a GUNNA, thats my new years resolution to change that.
Cheers

my new years resolution is to try and find some motivation to get more self disciplined to help get motivated to get off my arse. i know its probably unrealistic to aim so high but u never know u'r luck in the big city.

in reality the coupe bodywork is full steam ahead at the mo(pics to come), black betty is getting a bit of a long awaited tickle as we speak and the f100 even got a wash.

training for what stumper?

Hey Norm, as you know I have been boxing for a number of years now and when I moved to Albany I couldn't find a dedicated boxing gym, so I joined a local MMA (UFC style) gym and fuck me I've never been pushed that hard before ever, I can hold my own with my hands but when someone starts kicking the crap out of your legs like there chopping down a tree it wears you down LOL, I called him a cheat because he didn't want to box with me (just joking around with him) but thats the hard part of MMA you have to pack many skills to deal with an opponents strengths and I only have 1 strength at the moment but I quickly learnt to "check" leg kicks but even that knocks you off balance HAHAHAHA

Yes, this has been a ridiculous year, next year has to be better cause it just cant be this bad all over again.
Hope to be driving the corty in the next few months and preparing for the Cortina Nationals later in the year.

happy New Year

Happy new year to all!

My resolutions are to loose some weight (about 15kg) start a family, sort out the cars some more and continue on with work around the house.

Stumper I always thought UFC was just insane, it seems you've re-inforced what I've always thought.

Nah not insane just red blooded competition, ok I may have a couple of screws loose but you can't beat it for fitness and strength building.

So, were nearly 3 months down. Hows Everyone doing with their resolutions?

Mine have been going well!  :D

1. Loose weight - I havn't lost any weight yet  :banghead:  but I have been going to the gym more, and I'm having personal training sessions, so hope to see some results there soon.

2. Start a family - Well I'm proud to announce that the wife is 12 weeks pregnant! We have been well... not careful for about 12 months and I finally got one through to the keeper  :D

We had our 12 week scan on Monday, here's the pic of little "nugget"

The reason for nugget is the first scan we had was at 5 weeks and all you could see was a blob the shape of a chicken nugget lol.

We are absolutely over the moon! and can't wait to meet our little bundle of joy.

3. sort out cars - Yep working on that one. Got a mate who was helping me with them on the side who moved to Qld 2 years ago moving back next month so things will definitley pickup very soon. He doesn't work so is free during the day to work on cars.

4. Continue work around the house -  Yep been busy there too, had more of the kitchen finished off and have had a bit more work done to the smaller 20 x 30 shed. I've had 4 sheets of laserlight roof sheets put in and a window where my bench is to let a bit more light in as it was like a cave before and even in the middle of the day you would have to flick the light.

Good times!

Here's to 2012

thats awesome, congratulations. u'r in for the best learning curve of your entire life.

i thought about getting motivated and then changed my mind. tomorrow maybe if i can be fucked??

coupe is still moving forward, black betty had its tickle and the f100 is still clean.

just one thing on putting laserlite roof sheets on, DONT!  it'll turn your shed into an oven on hot days. turn the lights on. really, i had mine replaced with colourbond before the end of the first summer.

Hey guys, thought I better update this thread!

6/9/12 at 3:54am we welcomed Our beautiful little girl into the world. Funny story there, we didn't find out the sex but we were both sure it was a boy. Everytime I spoke to her belly it always started with 'hello baby boy' and the bubs was always referred to as nugget or 'he'. Well, didn't we get a shock! The first few days were very surreal and it took me a while to get used to all the pink stuff. I just couldn't believe it, all the pregnancy signs pointed towards boy, but we had been tricked! We were so sure that we had a boys name all lined up but had to think for a couple of days for a girls name

So here she is:

Rosaleigh Matilda Phillips

Weighing 7lb 12.5oz and 50cms long

I love this next pic, she looks so teeny in her car seat!

I'm just a little bit proud and a little bit smitten with her...

The mother inlaw got her a pair of pink skinny leg jeans,I saw them and thought YES! I can just picture her wearing them with a vintage looking car shirt with a pair of Converse all stars being dragged around car shows and swap meets by me!
