So...what's it worth?
« on: January 06, 2015, 04:00:29 PM »

As I move forward into the realm of V8 Cortina goodness I find I'll no longer need my 1600 kent. Not sure wether to keep it or sell it. It's never been opened (apart from new tappet cover gasget) has had the original alternator rebuilt and is only 45000mi old. Compression test was 160/158/160/160. Coupled to the original BW35(?). Since I don't know Cortinas very well I was wondering what it would be worth? I've scouted Gumtree and Ebay so I have my own idea - but I'd like to hear from some realists and/or excited collectors. :)

its one of them things. if you wanted one then there are none for sale and you'd have to pay top dollar to something ordinary but if you have one for sale you cant give it away.

lol I hear ya. I was in a wrecking yard last year and spied a 1600 short motor - suit rebuild. Not a word of a lie they wanted $600. ....I'm guessing it's still there!!
