17's on a corty

You will need to take a few things into consideration when trying to fit 17's.  Is the car lowered and by how much.  With my corty it was lowered 2" and with 15" I had to lip the front guards.  Though I suspect it was more than 2" that it was lowered.  Also how wide are the rims/tyre combo.  With 17" x 7" and around 205 tyres shouldnt have any problems, just lip the front guards.  If going wider rims/tyres will be a different story I would say.

rolling the guards will do fine  provided they're the right offset. my rims now are 7 1/2 wide with no problem and my old rims were 16X7 and had heaps of room.

My 18x7.5 +35 offset wheels do not touch at all with a 225/35/18 tyre my guards are untouched. it doesn't touch going lock to lock either.

with the right offset and rim/tyre width and stock ride height I believe no guard mods would be required on a tc cortina.

ive got some 215/45-R17's (7.5 inch wide rims, 40 + offset) and yeah they scrub the guards on the front like a mother fucker but thats only cause im running SSL springs. a simple rolling of the guards will fix this anyway ( I hope lol). They do not touch anything else even at full lock though

wheels were off a peugeot 307 if that helps ya.

Back is damn close but has never scrubbed.

good luck mate
