2008 Melbourne Cruise/Meet Where should we go?
« on: December 04, 2007, 12:47:26 PM »

Well I must say the recent cruise we had to heathcote raceway was just great. Now I think we should think of the next cruise we can have. I was thinking of the All Ford Day in Geelong which will be held in February, this is probably a good event to attend as it caters more for families. Also I was thinking of having it not just for cortinas but also for capris and escorts also. What do people think?

Hey mike the reason only 2 people turned up is because everyone knew you were going : lol

With the Heathcote cruise everyone thought you werent going thus they turned up : lol

But seriosly 2 people isnt a very good turnup at all.  Well hopefully for the All Ford Day this year it will be better turrnup.  I know for one I will be going, cant wait for it.

Yep, that cruise didn't have much planning time put into it from memory.  I was watching the video i took from that cruise the other day, there were only three cars that showed up for the cruise to Geelong being tthheekk, Jono250 and myself but Pcman was also there in Mike's TC.  That was a good day in regards to Cortina's on display, I filmed about 15 of them at the show grounds, that's not including our 3 cars from the cruise group.  It's a shame we didn't have any cards at that time advertising this site [but maybe this site wasn't fully up and running then 18-2-2006]

Anyway I can't upload any pictures from that day as I only had my video cam but anyone wanting a DVD of that event + Heathcote cruise can contact me for a copy,[mat78au@yahoo.com.au]

As Corty80 stated hopefully this year will bring a much better turnout for the cruise down to Geelong show grounds but i have to say the cars on display that day were something not to be missed for any Corty lover.

All the best to everyone for the new year and hope to see as many of you as possible this cruise.

Matt.

Hi Tim,
That's great to hear you'll be there!  I believe we'll still be meeting at the BP Geelong bound servo in the suburb of Little River on the M1, Princes Fwy.  I believe that's also fine with Corty80, Dougie77 and hopefully the others, no one on the FAF '2008 Corty Cruise' post has disagreed to that meeting point as of yet so like yourself I'm so far concluding that will be our meeting point.
I recently saw the picture of your TF Ghia Sedan on the FAF's it would be great to see it at the cruise for sure!  Plus i'm interested in checking out those factory leather seats as well.  I'm only guessing but i 'seem' to re-call that CortinaD [Dwayne's] TE GHia [one of the last TE's with Nov 1980 build date] came with leather factory seats as well but i could be wrong.
Will be nice to see your mate again as well in his red 77 TE Ghia, sadly i can't remember his name?  That TE is a very nice example with only two previous owners from memory and original paint work.  I remember you both had to leave the Heathcote cruise fairly early due to family responsibilities so i'll look forward to having a further chat with you both about your cars at this coming event.
Also did you end up keeping your 1975 TD XL one-owner sedan?  I've been away for two weeks so not sure what's been happening, it would be great to see that car some day as well.

Take care,

Matt.
