hey just thought i'd give everyone here a bit of a heads up.

due to too much rust and regretable methods i've decided i'm gonna reshell and completely redo black betty. today i took possession of the shell which will be the next black betty. this one will get the same treatment the blue tc got. hopefully by the end of the week it will be on the rotisserie - if i can get my engine crane back from a well meaning mate. once the body is done and modified accordingly i'll swap over the goodies from black betty - plus a few other ideas.

this is the bit that gives me wood.

Once the bug bites you cant stop Norm.  So does this mean that the 2 door is put on the back burner again while you do black betty 2.  Bonus with this new one is you have a sunroof.  Might have to come up your neck of the woods, seems you have the good one's, sunroofs, two doors : lol

Anyway nice one and have fun with the new build, which Iam sure you will, and keep us posted.

it's not "that bad" but it's not as good as i would like. a few areas requiring rust attention plus several things i would do differently if i did them again is why i'm starting again.  one of the rust spots requires engine and front suspension removal which isnt worth it on that body.

it will be neater, stronger, lighter, faster

Valid point. Well as long as you like it. That First pic brings back some memories. I used to have a white TD as a first car. With those 13" corty mags (similiar to the mini's). But mine was only a 4cyl 4spd. But I had the black bumpers and door handles. It was a super-roo style one, sports dash. My dad got it for me from a mate of his. Went quite hard for a SOHC 4cyl.
