it'll work no worries and it isnt too much trouble if you can read a wiring diagram and solder.

went and seen a mechanic today about wiring up the efi (auto leckys were just sending me around town to 'someone who does that') and he gave me a price of 6-700$$ to wire it up and dyno tune it. does this seem fair? he also reckons i'll need two fuel pumps and a surge tank. itll cost about a grand all up with me setting up the fuel system with his guideance (extra cost is fuel pumps). has anyone else done the swap and what fuel delivery setup did you use? any info will be muchly appreciated.

6-700 isnt too bad considering most places are going to charge $60+/hr labour and theres probably more than 10 hours in it. it's not a bad idea to run a surge tank cos the cortina tank only has one outlet.

i run 1 fuel pump but i had a return fitting welded onto my fuel tank. i dont run a swirl pot and it''s noticable when the fuel tank gets low.

a bit of food for thought - there is a way to run an ea ecu with xf injection which allows you to delete the air mass meter. i'm not the full bottle on it but i'm sure someone on here knows how to do it.

Use a 4cyl fuel level / supply (in the tank) they have 2 ports, 1 for supply & 1 for return.

I would still run a surge tank however.

only problem with a 4cyl sender is that the outlet is only 5mm

yeah true. I would highly recommend running at least a 1 ltr surge tank, and a lift pump. You can buy them cheap enough now anyway, from places such as ebay. The standard cortina tank is sufficient if your making upto 350-400rwhp, WITH the use of a surge tank. But you may also need to upgrade your fuel lines.8mm will be fine.

Nothing worse then an engine that runs outta fuel.........

But for $1000 ish, isnt it getting a lil expensive for standard ecu, when you can get something like; wolf <$1200, or even a microtech FITTED for $1500, which is fully mapable, tunable.... Just an idea..

1500$ fitted? ill look into that. sounds good. i can get my hands on a aluminium fuel cell for the boot. its got two outlets and a return. would that be a better option? (that $1000ish includes a dyno tune aswell)
