hey im not sure if anybody else has this problem, i hava 4 speed 6 cyl 200ci te ghia.i think it revs far too high anything over 85 odd km's. i was thinking of getting a falcon diff centre.but am unsure as to which one to go for.im really just looking for some more top end speed without as many revs

Sounds like you might have an auto that's been converted to a manual.

What RPM are you doing at 100 kms/h?

if you have a 6 cylinder from new then it should have a 2.7* in it anyway. there isnt much you can do in the way of diff ratio as the falcons ran pretty much the same thing.

a couple of things u could do is run a larger diameter rim, or a gearbox/trans with overdrive.

6s came with 2.77 and 2.92 and 4s came with 3.5. Not sure if any other ratio was an option. When I bought my te wagon it had a 3.23 in it but I think the previous owner put that in as well as the 5 speed. My 2.77 sit on around 2500 at 100kph in forth gear. I think I remember reading years ago that the 200ci came with 2.92 and 250ci was 2.77

Well after a few more intelligence lubricating ales and finally finding the right  page (4-2-1) in my Factory Ford Corty TE/TF manual it says that the:

6 cylinders ran a 2.79:1 diff

4 cylinders ran a 3.42:1 diff

the final outputs of the auto and the manual were 1:1

2900 RPM does sound a little high for 100 KPH from what I can remember when I ran my 4.1.

I think I had it up to 200 KPH and was not quite at the redline of 4500 rpm.

I think 2400 might have been around the 100-110 koh.

Also maybe the engine might just a bit noisy from lifters or something.
