Wakefield Park 1st of December
« on: November 19, 2008, 07:52:17 PM »

Hey guys,

I know I have posted this in the Ford Australia Corty forum, but I got no response and hoped there might be some keen guys here.

There must be some more Cortys out there somewhere!

Even if you don't have the fastest machine you'll have a ball anyway!

I want to show up some of the so-called sports cars at this Trackday, we have our Corty going but it would be good to have some more.

I am organising a Private Wakefield Track Day on Monday the 1st of December, I have around 3-4 spots available.

I have George and Andrew Miedecke coming with their Brute Ute, Focus XR and Tiburon, as well as a bunch of other cars including Evo X, Porsches, Cobras and maybe a GT40 replica.

The day is fairly relaxed, with fast/medium/slow sessions per hour.

(So we cater for semi-serious to fast-casual fun)

Everyone that comes has a ball and can't believe how much track time they get compared to a normal Track Day.

We have race driver training from Michael Navybox (see Auto Action), included as well as timing and ambulance.

We have about 4 girls driving so other girls are most welcome too and won't feel intimidated.

Costs are about $200-$235 (depending on numbers), with a non-refundable (unless cancelled) deposit of $100 required. (Max 30 cars)

(We make no profit, we just run it for us)

We are all staying at Mike's Manor (motorsport themed place, check it out on the net) which is very reasonable.

If you are interested just drop me a line at tim.jacky@bigpond.com or give me a call on 0438818017.

First in gets the spots.

We have run a few of these days now and everyone is surprised how good it is.

Cheers,

Tim

P.S. Although we have fun we don't tolerate idiots, who don't respect other peoples machinery.

Hey Tim,
Sounds like an excellant day and i cant believe you havent had more response from FAF, although you will find that forums full of dreamers and people who need 3 weeks to pay of something they wanna buy of the forum for 80bux.

Wish my 1uzfe Cortina was going, but its getting closer and i would like to participate one day when it is completed.

P.S. Tim give me some contact details and i can send you some stuff to give away on the day, Stubby coolers, t-shirts , sunglasses, etc.

I have been drooling over the idea of a 1uzfe Corty.

I hope you can come to our next day.

I am in Port Macquarie.

That would be great if you could send some stuff up.

You can send it to:

Tim Jurmann
17 Pindari Parade
Port Macquarie 2444

My mobile is 0438818017.

You could come down for a look if you were interested.

We stay at Mike's Manor which is pretty reasonable, about $70 a night including breakfast and dinner in the price.

I think his site is www.theramoncorporation.com

What does this term mean in conjunction with a cortina?

1UZFE is the 4litre V8 made by Toyota and also distributed by Lexus. I have one stuffed in my TE Cortina, also have the largest Eaton supercharger available (M112) ready to bolt on.

Hey Bucster,

Many thanks for the promotional gear.

I had a problem with my Ford Racing Rocker covers not clearing the inlet manifold and Clutch Master cylinder and could not source some before the day.

So spent all my time up til 1.30 am each night getting the wife's Supra engine out, back together, and in again.

So had no time to get on the computer to say thanks.

(I kept a TE one for myself)

And I shared around the other promotional gear amongst some Cortina fans at the track.

Has a great day though. George Miedecke managed to do a 1.13 in the Supra after only a couple of laps, which was as fast as his Brute.

I will try to put up some pics soon.

We will run another day in March/April next year if you are keen.

Thanks again,

Tim :)
