Theres a place here in adelaide called wheelworx.com. They do a 4 - 5 stud adaptor which bolts on the old cortina 4 stud drum and takes it to the falcon 5 stud. They custom make them for each job so whatever stud pattern you wanna go to they can do. They can also shave the back of a rim, if the offset is wrong. I think that the adaptor sounds a bit dodgey but,its seems like the easiest way to get a 5 stud on the rear. They go for $150 each. Do hoppers stoppers do a rear disc adaptor? If they do, ill no doubt get that too.

yeah ok, i'm not familiar with that method so i couldnt tell you if the ba rims will fit. i was mainly asking in relation to the offset. sounds like a rough way odf doing it but if the spacers are the right thickness then the rims will fit on the back no worries. getting your drums and axles redrilled 5 stud is heaps cheaper but you ont have the offset to suit the rim.

Hoppers have a rear brake upgrade pack that gives you discs with the five stud pattern.

From memory it is about $1500

You wont be able to fit the wheels by fitting adaptors either get the standard axles redrilled to 5 stud or get axles made to suit i have put a 18x8 BA GT wheel on the rear of a td and did not foul had about 1/2" inside and didnt scrubb on the gaurd and this car was very low cortinas have almost identical offsets to late model falcons just the studd pattern that needs changing

re brake upgrade
« Reply #6 on: July 13, 2009, 09:56:39 PM »

hey there i have done the hoppers upgrade and works great you do need to upgrade the master cly to the bigger xb one but there is a few small to large changes you need to make 1 will be you will have to replace the brake lines due to the xb has differant threads for the brake lines and when you go to double flare the lines they crack so they need to be replaced if you go into any brake place ask for a couple meters of bundy tube and some new threads thet screw into master cly and you will need to get a double flare tool 2 you will need to screw out the shaft in the brake booster to get right pedle feel dont go to much master cly will leak.
the kit from hoppers is an easy fit any one with half a brain could do it its the fitment of new bundy tube and double flares that will put ppl over the top
as for wheels i have 18inch wheels with 225-40-18 on front with +42 off set
and 235-40-18 on rear with +42offset i removed rear axels and had axels and drums re drilled
hope this helps ya
