hey mate unsure with the later model e series motors, cant see as there'd be too much difference other than inlet mani,  but when i put the eb motor in my te the issues were..

sump- best way is to the combine the falcon sump with the corty sump (top half falcon- bottom half corty so clear the crossmember.

heaterbox- inlet manifold, the inlet manifold and fuel rail hits the heaterbox, can modify heaterbox or whatever

exhaust mani- wont work so will require custom made extractors

clutch fan- no space so i used a thermo

gearbox- the t5 will sit further back then your existing corty gearbox so u'll have to recut the hole and this may cause issues shifting into 4th as it did with mine, Just pull apart the shifter mechanism and make a dog leg for it- will be hidden by the rubber boot anyways.

radiator- ports are on opposite sides, aussie desert coolers do a unit to suit.

all i can think of at the moment, anymore questions just ask mate.
cheers
scott

Eng. mounts probably wont bolt up exactly. I have also tried earlier E series engine. Used the mounts of 6 cyl Cortina and had to drill a new hole or two in the mounts to match the hole pattern on the block. Not too hard to make it fit.  I am pretty sure, however that the EL's have completely different eng. mounts. Not sure of the bolt pattern on the block though, could be the same.  You will also need to shorten the EL tailshaft to suit the cortina. The T5 needed some custom brackets to mount in the TE as far as I remember. The starter motor interfered with the firewall and had to do some panel beating to fit it in.
From memory there was no room at all to get the bolts that hold the bellhousing to the block. I assembled the clutch and bellhousing to the block and dropped it in, then mounted the box to the other end of the housing. Was horrible job trying to align everything and get the shaft in the little spigot bearing.

u dont need to cut the el shaft down as the cortina one will fit. its maybe 30mm too short but it'll do the job.

how you mounted the bellhousing to the block and then fitted the engine is by far the easiest way. i'd have my engine in and out and gearbox also on several occasions and thtat way works the best.

i cant remember exactley what i did for the t5 mounting all i remember was cutting part of it with the grinder and welding it back up. i'll get under tomorrow and let ya know. but it was fuckin easy to do. also i had no issues with having to shorten the tailshaft when using the eb motor :S bolted up fine.

I just though the cortina tail shaft  wouldn't be able to handle the untamable power of el xr6
