brake upgrade for MkII Cortina
« on: November 14, 2006, 08:11:44 AM »

Can anyone help with the simplest and cheapest brake upgrade for a MkII Cortina. The current non-power assisted disc brakes are okay but I have installed a larger 2 litre motor with more power and if I have to get a RWC, I am sure I will need an engineers report.

Hi Tony,
Try Hoppers Stoppers, see what they recommend.

They hopefully will advise if the Tc cortina upgrade will work or not. Im not familiar with any of the earlier model conversions.
The Post on FAF from Dr Danger regarding volvo 4spot calipers on bmw discs is an interesting option. Let us know how the upgrade comes along, take a few pics even.

:402 try a falcon conversion say xa-xc. bit fiddley and tyre size and stud pattern will change, but the bright side is that a nine inch diff will match no problems.... :banghead
