Genuine Falcon Phase 4
« on: January 30, 2007, 06:39:07 PM »

Ok,
So its not a cortina or even cortina related, but it is a work of art and probably will be the most talked about car ever in the Ford Australia History books.

And anybody that says its crap, watch ur arse cause its gonna get booted all over Oz.   :nutkick

Genuine Falcon Phase 4

sorry guys but david bowden in QLD owns the only fully race prepped phase 4 earmarked for moffat to be driving that year, it is well documented that the other two brambles red cars were not completely finished when the plug was pulled on the phase 4 project and only one calypso green phase 4 actually made it through the production line  (which actually has GT H.O on the id tag) the  red ones did not (they were the known as the phase 4 prototype race cars)
paul and david have been in disagreement over this moffat car thing for years but davids cars serial number is much earlier than pauls( months i believe)  making davids more likely to be the real moffat race prepped phase 4
one thing that gets me is, first paul says his is one of 3 phase 4`s then later he says one of 4 .....make up your mind paul!
(his is one of 3 prototypes) but there were 4 phase 4`s  the only  factory GTHO phase 4  was the calypso green one which went through the production line as an H.O  the others also went through the production line but as gt`s and were later modified to phase 4 specs in the mahoneys road special vehicle op`s workshop
remember ford planned to build a heap of phase 4`s so there were plenty parts to build race cars ,it`s just a shame that the plug was pulled and the leftover bits went into regular production option cars (hence rpo 83)
my mate had one with the 160 mph dash many years ago in a standard gt coupe ,ofcourse no-one took any notice of these things back then

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11241872

old news but you may not of seen it.

WORLD SCOOP!

Street Fords magazine is proud to announce that Roy Velardi, Editor of Street Fords and Xtreme Fords magazine has secured nothing less than the sole production Calypso Green XA GT-HO Phase 4 for an exclusive three-part feature!

Yes, that’s right, the car owned by The Dentist, the car no-one has seen in public since it was last photographed for sale at Bob Lahood motors on Parramatta Road back in the early ’80s.

To say that I am over the moon is a gross understatement. I have known the owner for a while through my cousin who used to spanner on the Phase 4 back in the day and recently we got talking about the possibility of one day bringing the car out to the public for all to see via the magazine.

Stay tuned to Street Fords for updates as we prepare our three-part series on the rarest production muscle car ever produced in this country!

It is with the owner’s permission that I have included a never-before-seen photo of the car just after it was bought. No I'm not going to show you current pics you will just have to wait and see!

Note this is a photo of the car still wearing its incorrect shade of green paint known as Zircon Green. It’s now in it's final stages of restoration, with some finishing touches being completed and we will be bringing you the full story about its history including previous owners interviewed, its restoration, how it performs on the road (yes, I have already driven it several times!) plus more!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Ford community, so stay tuned as it all unfolds in the months ahead!

Well if this car truely is a one off classic then yeah its worth what these things fetch these days, because $700,000 is a lot of money for what they are unless they have documented race history or something.
And if its being restored then theres some real work going into it and it deserves to be admired.

What shits me is that you can buy a replica and put some 20 inch chromes on it and show it off at car shows and most people are none the wiser BUT you can drive it without shitting yourself every metre you travel down the road.

Id personally take the latter and invest the change.
Can't brag about your car when your dead so you might as well drive it and show it off while you can enjoy it and let others enjoy it too.
Good to see this article is going ahead.
