Hi Don, love your Corty. I have been following the respray on xfalc, your car looks the goods with those rims. How did the boot turn out? I tried to do the same boot floor in my TD but got about half way through that and mini tubs before I lost motivation and sold it! Now I just have the TC!
Can't wait to see it with the turbo on it!

thanks guys, i glad to be in the corty forums now.

im glad yous like the wheels, i had em custom done for this car and waited 6 months for em. im a big fan of the ford globe wheels and this is almost the same as genuine but these are 4" fronts.

Pete's referring to a panel that lifts up to give access to the fuel system in the boot. The panel just lifts up Pete. it works fine! but i haven't fitted the fuel system and surge tank in yet as you would know i decided to get the ute out of the way ( that build is almost finished now) and im about get back into this one and it will be finished in here now!

Yes, I do all my own work from engine building, suspension, metal polishing, bodywork and spraypaint.  and whilst I do enjoy this stuff, I wish there was some young guys who could help just occasionally.(that's how I learnt most things..finding a mentor and listening and learning as much as possible)

It's another reason why I have bought the build to a dedicated cortina forum. To be with guys who know cortys!

With this car I've decided to go the turbo route to continue learning and the carb route will allow me to bolt down easily on other motors in the future..possibly back to v8s one day , but a good 6cyl corty turbo looks to be able to go almost anything. So perhaps just finding a good barra motor or ohc  motor could be the next step. (using a carby manifold and programable msd ignition)

There's still some way to go but..

ATM I'm actualy looking more at the interior on it as I drive it regularly, I want basket weave seats like the tc cortys had (xygt also), it fits well with the globes and muscle car looks, so if anybody knows or has basket weave seats , or cool interior stuff in black get in touch with me.

Just some updates,

I used the car again for last year as my daily, never got hasseled despite it having front runners, scoop and dirty big drop tank.

It allowed me to concentrate on other cars.

The TD is back in my garage now and im droping out the front end to do a bush overhaul, tie rods and ball joints.
(It allready had springs and shocks)

oh, also have a new motor for it. Staying 6cyl but 4.0 litre with 12 counterweight crank.

Will continue with my crossflow however as thats the motor i plan to learn my new set up on.

Other parts the car has now is a 1000hp water2air intercooler system comprising of 2 set ups, street set up has a alloy radiator and pump, track set up is ice box (that will be mounted in boot).  The W2A is planned to fitted once the heater box is removed.

The project is slow going but i love my TD.
