Are the stub axles on the TC smaller then theTE stub axles?
Is it be possible to put a sleeve onto the TC to match the TE stub axle bearing seats ?

thanks guy's, to fit the convos it needs to be shortned 50mm each side to fit nice. the housing is no biggy but the axels may be a problem to shortn that much so may need new axels yet.

Would 25mm a side work? Assuming your sticking with 25 spline you could use pintara axles, cut 10mm out the housing and the offset for the brakes is about 15mm shorter then the corty offset

left axle would be ok as is, right would need 10mm cut off end, shouldn't be a problem, and fit pintara/skyline rear disk brake.

I don't know if this has been dun before but should be easy enough to do.

I have some pintara axle you can have if you want them.

Thanks winton but it has to be 50mm each side to fit the convo's as they are a deep dish. do the pintara axles spline taper off or could i cut them and then respline them. are the axels 4 stud or 5 stud. thanks again for the info.

They do taper off but there is enough length to cut 50mm off and respline them, being that the offset on the brake end is shorter then the corty one you might not need to cut off 50mm.

You will probably have to fit pintata/skyline rear disk though

They are 4 stud, one stud will line up to the falcon Patten the others will have to be redrilled.

Will i need to put the pintara housing ends on to the corty diff housing. or are they the same.

http://www.fordaustraliaforums.com/forum/showthread.php?37261-how-to-build-28-spline-diff-includes-pics
This link shows some stuff you will find useful about fitting the brakes. I've modified some brackets at home myself and it dose work, but if your cutting the diff anyway , it would probably be easier to just weld on the pintara/ skyline ends

This is what the pintara end looks like ,weld them on would save some hassle

Thanks heaps winton you have been a great help. Do you have any pics of the axle and the axle splines. I think this would be the best way and keep the costs down too, cheers.

No worrys, that why were on here.

The axle pictured is about 20mm to short in the corty housing ( it engages in to the center by only 10mm, when it should engage 30mm),

you would probably only have to cut off about 20mm to achieve the length you need,

axle will still have about 10mm of spline left on the end, don't know if that would be a issue for resplining . ( maby go 60mm shorter if it is, if you can)

The other axle will probably need 40mm cut off, so that will cut the splines off completely

Have you talked to someone about resplining the axles? I have been told in the past they wont be as strong as the were originally, but if its for a cruiser it would probably be ok

I went to see sam at SA RACE today. he likes the idear of using the pintara or r31 setup but said he wants to look into it him self too. He is going to ring me tomorow to let me know if it will work.

He did say that by resplining the axels that they will not be as strong but will be fine for what i intend it to be for.
